MESSAGE FROM

PRESIDENT HORACE A. JUDSON

  March 30, 2012

Dear KC Bulldog Nation and Friends:

Spring is here, the College holds 4th place in Home Depot's "Retool your School" competition, and fifteen Knoxville College(KC) seniors are planning to march across the stage of Colston Center to receive their degrees on May 12, 2012. KC staff and administrators are preparing for commencement, the annual campus clean-up, and the pre-visit from the accreditation team in May 2012. The College is moving forward.

Gail and I will begin our Spring Break travels to meet KC graduates from the Southern Region. My travel schedule for mini-reunions is designed to meet alumni we have not met or seen over the past two years, to reminisce about KC's past, celebrate its present, and discuss the future.

In this eNewsletter, we share the tentative schedule for Homecoming 2012 which we believe will become another exciting homecoming reunion. Plans are to award the first President's Trophy to the best fraternity or sorority step-team that comes "down the hill" during Festival on the Lawn. These are time-honored traditions that should be celebrated during homecoming.

Finally, we urge you to make a pledge or fulfill your pledge of financial support to KC, if you have not already done so. In particular, I want you to support the "CheckFree: Road to Accreditation" initiative using direct-deposit (preferred), the seat-naming campaign, and/or the Bulldog Annual Fund, all initiatives of the Renaissance of KC Comprehensive Campaign. Regardless of the initiative you support, the College needs your help to move successfully into the 21st century.

Attached for your perusal is my 2012 Mid-year CheckFree Summary Report. This report reflects a comparison of our CheckFree fund-raising performance over previous decades. Alumni confidence in and support of CheckFree have increased significantly since 2009. And with your help and the support of new donors, this initiative will come to a successful close on May 1st.

Please join the growing number of supporters of CheckFree today! Send your signed donor form and voided check to KC's Office of Business and Finance before April 30th. And if you do, the College's future will be assured.

Thank you for your continued belief in KC's mission of providing quality education for students.

Sincerely,

Horace A. Judson

Horace A. Judson, President
